Yes, another weekend at Infineon/Sears Point! If you haven't run at this track, you're missing out on one of the best of the best road courses in the country!

TrackMasters Racing has worked with NASA on several events over the past two seasons to bring our members more opportunities at tracks like Laguna Seca and Infineon/Sears Point. On January 22nd and 23rd TrackMasters Racing will have it’s own dedicated run group during the NASA event.  This ‘Dedicated’ run group means just that. We’ll have our own private session without any other NASA drivers. We run by our rules, and with fellow TMR members.  We’ve run several of these events and all have worked out extremely well for our drivers.

As a participant, you’ll get (4) 25 minutes sessions per day and far less traffic than the NASA sessions that will be running around us.  NASA plans to run 35 to 45 cars per run group, with session lengths of 20 minutes each.  That’s means TMR drivers end-up with more track time (20 minutes), and 10 to 15 fewer cars on track!

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED DRIVERS ONLY!

How does the mixed run group work? Advanced and Intermediate drivers run during the same session.  Intermediate drivers have an ‘ I ‘ on the back of their car, and Advanced drivers have an ‘ A ‘ on the back of theirs. The passing rules are as follows:

  • A  passing A  and  I  passing A = open with courtesy point by where possible.  No dive bombing in corners!
  • A  passing I and I  passing I = ‘A’ and ‘ I ‘ drivers must wait for a point by (mandatory) from the ‘ I ‘ driver being overtaken. Passing is allowed anywhere on track, but is controlled by the Intermediate driver.

Concerned about the mixed run group format? The only drawback to this mixed format is that the faster  Advanced drivers may be held up occasionally as they wait for a point by from an Intermediate driver.  This hasn’t been an issue in past events because of the low car count, and frank discussions about the rules during the drivers meeting and the post session downloads.  For these reasons,  we prefer to see Intermediate drivers who are skilled at passing and being passed.(watching mirrors and providing an immediate point to the faster cars) Therefore, Intermediate drivers with a minimum of 6 events experience are preferred.

Event Specifics:

  • NASA membership IS NOT required to attend this event.
  • 2.52 Mile Le Mans Configuration
  • Event target is 20 to 22 paid participants
  • 1 Run Group - Combined Advanced AND Intermediate.
  • (4) 25 minute sessions per day

  • As always, fire, safety, medical, and other track crews will be present during the event
  • $10 parking fee will be applicable to TMR drivers. This is a NASA fee that we can’t get around for several reasons.
  • Saturday participants are invited to attend the NASA BBQ on Saturday at 5pm. (open bar too!)
  • Cost is $165 per day or $270 for both days

Weather Condtions
Worried about the weather? Don’t be!  In the event that we have wet track conditions, it’s important to note that Infineon is a very fun track to drive when wet.  Traction is extremely good with the new track surface, and a wet experience will just add to your car control skills.  It’s all a matter of control and concentration - not the moisture on the track! :)  In the event of precipitation, we plan to spend time during the drivers meeting and download sessions to review tips and techniques for wet surface driving. No worries!

TrackMasters Racing will not refund registration fees unless we have members on the wait list to take your place. Exceptions to this policy are possible if the cancellation notification is 2 or more weeks prior to the event date. This is a ‘rain or shine’ event.
